The client challenge

This state government department within a key portfolio was experiencing difficulty measuring impact across its programs. They faced challenges prioritising, designing, and delivering the right work to achieve the Premier’s priority targets.

The client sought to close the gaps on these targets and build a delivery-focused culture backed by consistent, measurable processes. Engaging Encompass to do a short, sharp deep-dive analysis, the Department was looking for help to inform scoping and direction of new projects or programs, or rapidly assess the effectiveness of in-flight work.

Identified gaps

Work began with a deep dive into existing data to identify gaps and find the greatest opportunities to drive an uplift in performance. This detailed data analysis was used to identify key indicators, guide priorities, and design new programs of work.

Designed and delivered executive dashboards

After identifying key data points and challenges, we worked with the data team to develop multiple network dashboards designed to help measure and evaluate progress. The ‘Metrics that Matter’ dashboards became essential drivers of evidence-based decision-making.

Established capability

Our team worked closely with the Department to upskill teams and improve data fluency, helping prepare for self-sufficiency after handover.
