  • We helped establish capabilities across process enablement, data and analytics, and project delivery to support Premier priorities.

The client challenge

This state government department faced ambitious customer targets and sought to create a new Transformation Directorate to help better manage its priority initiatives. The Department operates within complex project environments with multiple stakeholders and high visibility.

The primary focus of the Directorate was to deliver key political and business priorities, while also improving ways of working and advancing organisational project delivery maturity.

With limited resources and a wide-ranging remit, the department sought help with establishing key pillars of work and driving resources to the areas of most impact.

How we helped

Assessed department priorities

We began with a detailed assessment of operations to identify root cause drivers and their impact on targeted priorities.

Identified key metrics for decision-making

Following the initial assessment, we identified key leading and lagging indicators. These were incorporated into program dashboards to help executives make evidence-based decisions and proactively manage risks.

Introduced best practise program disciplines and tools

We worked with the Department to co-design programs that enabled consistent, predictable, and repeatable ways of work. This included the delivery of a customised change assessment tool to help the Department assess change impacts.

Established portfolio management and governance framework

This framework was designed to help manage all levels of delivery with consistency.
